Gearing up for a Study Abroad Experience

“—the readiness is all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows, what is ’t to leave betimes? Let be.”

-Hamlet, Act 5, Scene 2

So as I have not written a blog post in a while, I am sure there is a little bit of catching up to do.  However, seeing as how I’ve addressed what has happened during the last semester in my brief biography, the only topic that I need to catch up on is getting ready to study abroad in London, England for the spring semester!  I absolutely cannot wait to study and work in one of the cultural and financial capitals of the world, where everything will be completely new.  There’s something eerily daunting about this experience; it’s the first time I’ll be in a foreign country, on my own, with no real direction or guidance other than what my professors or program coordinators tell me.  At the same time, I am becoming more excited as the days go by.  There are an infinite amount of things to do or to see and I plan to take advantage of as many opportunities as I can to experience what London has to offer.  I’ll be interning with Marriott International in one of the company’s most beautiful hotels, the Grosvenor House London, which will undoubtedly prove to be an immensely rewarding experience and one for personal and professional growth.  In addition, I’ll be taking several interesting classes including an international economics class, and international supply chain class, and a Shakespearean literature class.  All in all, I believe I am ready for this journey, thanks to both of my past experiences and my desire to grow and to learn.

However, I’ve been slacking in my research to find interesting things to do, restaurants to eat at, or sights to see.  If anyone has been to London before and/or knows of something I should do, please leave a comment or reach out to me because I would love recommendations on how to craft my own London adventure.
